Starting from Lido di Spina and heading towards Lido degli Estensi, a pleasant and enchanting journey by pedestrian and bicycle ferry through navigable canals then takes the biker to Porto Garibaldi. An equally easy and safe route for bikers starts out from Porto Garibaldi and runs parallel to the coast road as far as Comacchio. It’s the ideal way for visiting the centre of this historical and lively town with canals in place of streets and picturesque bridges linking together various residential quarters with delicate pastel colour façade houses.
A panoramic road running north of Porto Garibaldi and inland of the Lidi called Argine Acciaioli is ideal for biking excursions. The first six kilometres of the route passes by the Lido degli Scacchi and that of Pomposa through peaceful rural countryside. After bordering Lido delle Nazioni and Valle Bertuzzi, the road carries on to Lido di Volano, renowned for its lush green pine forest which is now a wildlife reserve, finally arriving close to the Abbey of Pomposa which is over one thousand years old.
